It's true, but most people won't face it with dignity. I like boobs. boobs are good. I don't think there's anything wrong with boobs. But this flash is still pretty fuckin true regardless. You're gonna get a lot of defensiveness coming your way tho
First, I'd like to start by saying that this is good. Nothing bash-worthy, at the least. I just have some gentle gripes
But it'd like to say this to those who are getting extremely defensive about BS: look, not everyone is going to like it. I have to admit, I thought a majority of it was a snore-fest, considering I had to skip to the climax while ignoring the last 23 chapters. I mean, there is barely any motion in it, and reading text bubbles gets to be annoying after a while. This is, in no way, the "Genius" that people are saying it to be. C'mon, half of the dialogue in this chapter didn't even make sense. Though I do admit, it is artistic in its own sense, it's nothing like reading a good book.
And I like how people are suddenly "kids who watch porn" because they don't like the low tempo of the series. C'mon, generlization much? For people who are "sophisticated" enough to understand BS, you sure bandy around names like children.
I'm a big fan of your work. I say everything in this flash but for the length of it is perfect. The music and the animation are well sync'ed.
As for the style--I'm one for Anime so that's a one up. For the reviewer below me, allow me to make a rebuttal. From the movie icon, you could tell the flash was in anime style. If you dislike anime and were willing to bring this work's rating down so low because of it, you shouldn't have watched it. Because you dislike the style doesn't constitute for dragging this animation's score down from a possible 5 to 3. From all technical aspects, this was perfect. From all aesthetic views, it was perfect. Are you willing to let something with such overpowering assets bog the rating down so low?
The humor was in bad taste, but allagorically appropriate. The animation was a bit slow but the characters were drawn very well. Some of the sounds were awkward but worked for their purpose.
Now stop being sensitive pansies and rate the movie on the count of it's a movie and not that it insults your favorite band. Metallica's new sounds suck anyway.
So this isn't the best, but it's not nearly as bad as people seem to rate it.
As for the sensitive fucks below me:
Maybe you should stop being assholes and/or pansies. The author didn't create this to personally offend you; you took offense. And for the assholes--you're an incorrigible problem on Newgrounds. Spend more time reading books and less time writing reviews.
Or these kids can use there internet time to expand there minds a little bit.
Instead they use that time to watch foamy rant about the price of movie theater snacks.
You felt your I.Q. drop?
So did I, as I was reading your review. Maybe you should go read a book or something.
I thought this was funny, but really strange at the same time. o_o'''
Any bad concept can be beautified. This is an example of a good concept which also looks substantially good. I mean, what better concept is there than to kill Foamy? We've already had the "End of Newgrounds Fads", or at least I recollect it being that.
At least Foamy plays a productive role in this Flash, as opposed to his usually composing half of a ridiculously long dialogue about "the convictions of society".
As for the Foamy fanboys, tranquilize yourselves. You're supposed to review the submission, not attest your devotion to a squirrel. Write something un-biased and constructive, if it's the last thing you do.
It wasn't quite THAT bad...
I just think the theme, music and pace didn't add up. The theme and music suggest something a bit quicker. Not a lot of character animation in this, either, but the graphics were smooth for what they were. The "lock/clock" motif was mimiced well, except "lock/clock" tends to be more cinematic quality. You might want to get a microphone--as I've see has already been suggested--because the voices were droning and sounding rather synthesized.
I can't say it's "it's a piece of shit" because it isn't. It just needs some improvement, is all. I just advise that you be a bit more benevolent to your audience--whom should also give more constructive reviews as opposed to "it's crap".
to long didnt read all of it. thanks anyway
Another great chapter...
My certain inclination toward this Flash was the fight. I saw the word "fight" and I was thinking a combination of Broken Saints' ritually phenomenal artwork and fast-paced action. I got action, but not fast-paced--it sufficed anyway. In fact, I'm very impressed at how you could articulate a dual in still-frames so well. Still very awesome in almost every respect. Even though my fawning was a bit out of context, I think it was great from the stance of action AND drama.
To answer the question of the previous poster: We watch this series because we're looking for something to relate to. A lot of people saw Broken Saints and thought "guns, blood and action" and were disappointed by the lack of unsullied pace and the contrasting style. We keep sifting through each chapter, looking for just what we need to "like" this series. Because we want to like this series--we want to acknowledge it for the masterpiece that it is. It just doesn't...suit our tastes...yet.
This is a great conclusion to a great series. Though I still do have one gripe. The pace of this series was unbearable--grueling, even. I mean, the art is amazing, no doubt, but a bunch of sequenced still-frames and word bubbles just couldn't keep my attention for long. Still, this is great--very touching, even though I skipped past the million and a half chapters preceding this.
